Laser For Nail Fungal Removal

image

Laser treatment of onychomycosis is the use of laser beams to penetrate the nails and surrounding tissues and then be absorbed by the pigment of the fungus. The heat generated by the laser can kill or damage the fungi in the nails, thereby making the sterile nails grow back.

At the same time, the micro-holes generated by the laser on the deck can also make it easier for external drugs to enter the deck and nail bed, and play a better role.

A few things about laser treatment, we learned some key points during treatment:

1. Before treatment

Nail polish or paint must be removed from the nails the day before

treatment. All shoes must be sprayed with a fungal or antiseptic spray every day before

treatment for 4 weeks.

2. Treatment time

The time for a single treatment of 5 to 10 nails is about 20-40 minutes.

After laser treatment, most patients can get good improvement generally once a week, 4-6

treatments are a course of treatment, and the number of courses of treatment depends on the

degree of nail infection and individual differences.

3. Treatment process

Most patients have no pain or slight pain, and the treated part has a warm feeling.

There is still a warm feeling in the treated area within a few minutes after treatment, and most

people can return to their daily life immediately.

4. Results of the treatment

As the nails grow, new healthy nails will grow.

Treat onychomycosis with patience, nails grow at a rate of 1-2 mm per month.

A complete replacement of a new nail takes 3-5 months for fingernails and about 6-9 months

for toenails.

If you want to restart laser treatment, usually after 6 months of treatment. Laser treatment of

onychomycosis is 53-95% effective according to different studies.
