The Principle of 980nm Diode Laser for Spider Nevus Treatment

1. Targeted Action

The 980nm wavelength laser can penetrate the superficial layer of the skin (approximately 1-2mm) and be specifically absorbed by hemoglobin in the blood vessels of spider nevi, avoiding damage to surrounding normal tissues.

2. Treatment Process

- After absorbing laser energy, hemoglobin is converted into thermal energy, causing damage to vasular endothelial cells and destruction of blood vessel walls;

- Hemoglobin in blood vessels is broken down into small molecular clusters, which are absorbed through tissue metabolism;

- The dilated blood vessels contract, coagulate and gradually occlude, and finally the spider nevi fade away.
